Nicole has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Systems Management from the University of Queensland.
She is based in the small, remote town of Charleville in south west Queensland and has been working for DAF for almost 25 years. She started at DAF working on research projects looking at total grazing pressure and environmental management systems and then moved into sheep extension (managing Leading Sheep) and more recently beef extension. She currently manages the FutureBeef program across Northern Australia (Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia) where they use online methods to share the latest advice and tools for the north Australian Beef industry.
Nicole says: I’m motivated by doing a good job and getting things completed. So, for work I try to do my best and like to be able to tick things off my ‘to do’ list. I am a strong planner and like to document what I need to do, by when. More recently I have participated in online training about productivity and have divided my work up into deep work and shallow work and prioritised my deep work for in the mornings when I am most energetic.. I am also a team player and really like to bring everyone along on the journey with me and make sure we are all clear on our purpose and what each of our roles are.
