Dairy Australia
Dairy Australia is the national services body for the Australian dairy industry, funded by a combination of levies paid by dairy farmers and matching payments from the Commonwealth Government for eligible research and development (R&D) activities.
Dairy Australia's purpose is to support the profitability and sustainability of dairy farming. It works closely with levy payers and other important stakeholders to understand their needs and shape its investment priorities. Dairy Australia provides practical tools, services and advice to assist farming operations and the dairy supply chain. Its investments in innovation are focused on increasing farm productivity and the global competitiveness of the Australian dairy industry.
This includes attracting people to the industry, building skills, providing insights, informing policy formation and trade relations, promoting the benefits of dairy to consumers and meeting community expectations on issues such as environmental impact and animal welfare.
Dairy Australia's structure comprises a head office in Melbourne which supports on the ground delivery of services by eight regional teams located in dairy regions across the country.
Dairy Australia works closely with a wide range of industry, government and research organisations to advance the interests of dairy farmers. This includes Australian Dairy Farmers (ADF), state dairy farmer organisations, Australian Dairy Products Federation (ADPF), the Gardiner Dairy Foundation, state and federal Governments, other Rural R&D Corporations (RDCs) and University research bodies. Dairy Australia's partnership funding arrangements with these organisations in major industry investments maximises the value of the dairy levy.

Beef & Lamb New Zealand
Beef + Lamb New Zealand (B+LNZ) is funded by farmers through commodity levies paid on all sheep, beef, and dairy cattle processed in New Zealand. These levies fund targeted programmes that deliver real results – on the farm, in the market, and at the policy table.
A key part of our strategic plan involves building a stronger presence in the regions to help us stay connected with farmers. This ensures we provide tools, services, and information that are relevant and add value to your farming business.
We work closely with farmers to identify the most critical priorities to achieve our vision of thriving sheep and beef farmers, now and in the future. In the extension space, we partner with the B+LNZ Farmer Council, enhancing our ‘by farmers, for farmers’ approach in delivering regional extension, events, and products.
We are increasing our investment behind the farm gate and will be setting up the following new initiatives:
- Supporting farmers: Facilitating small group learning in B+LNZ-led Focus and Innovation groups to help farmers adapt and adopt tools, technology, and management systems.
- Setting up regional ‘Hub’ farms and partnerships: Encouraging farmer connection and shared learning while addressing local challenges and opportunities.
- Delivering high-quality extension and regional events: Continuing our commitment to providing valuable learning opportunities.
- Attracting, growing, and supporting young people in our sector.
- Working with Māori farmers and Māori farming entities.
We also focus on research and innovation, advocacy, and energising the sector. Our goal is to maximise farm productivity and profitability with all our investments and report back to farmers transparently on our progress and achievements.
